SiWell produces Triple A Silicon: a liquid food supplement with silicon, zinc and selenium, for people who want to improve their hair, skin and nails from within. Our approach is honest and without exaggeration: we explain what the ingredients do and do not do, and we don't sell you miracles.

SiWell Triple A Silicon provides silicon, zinc, and selenium in liquid form. Zinc and selenium have an EU-recognized role: zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, normal skin, and normal nails, and selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and normal nails. There is no recognized health claim for silicon itself; we explain this honestly on our blog.

Een dagdosis van 12 druppels (0,5 ml) bevat 4 mg silicium. Voor silicium bestaat geen officiële aanbevolen dagelijkse hoeveelheid. Via je eten krijg je volgens EFSA gemiddeld 20 tot 50 mg per dag binnen, vooral uit granen, groenten en water. SiWell is dus een kleine aanvulling daarop.

Zink en seleen zijn mineralen waarvan de EU erkent dat ze een rol spelen bij haar, huid en nagels. Zink draagt bij tot de instandhouding van normaal haar. Eerlijk antwoord: nee, niet officieel. Silicium heeft in de EU geen goedgekeurde gezondheidsclaim, omdat het bewijs daarvoor niet voldoende werd geacht. Wel staat vast dat orthokiezelzuur (OSA) de vorm is waarin je lichaam silicium opneemt (EFSA, 2018). Over SiWell zelf is nog geen klinische studie gedaan. Daarom beloven we niets over de werking van silicium. Orthosilicic acid (OSA) is the form of silicon that your body absorbs directly; it occurs naturally in liquid solutions. SiWell uses its own patented OSA formula for this. OSA is used in food supplements because of this simple, pure form. SiWell Triple A Silicon contains orthosilicic acid without added substances and is suitable for daily use.

Orthokiezelzuur (OSA) is van zichzelf niet stabiel: in een geconcentreerde oplossing klonteren de moleculen samen tot grotere deeltjes. Daarom moet het gestabiliseerd worden. SiWell doet dat met een eigen methode, die is vastgelegd in een patent.

Het patent gaat over de manier waarop het orthokiezelzuur in SiWell wordt gestabiliseerd. De formule is dus van ons en mag niet door anderen worden gemaakt of gekopieerd. Een patent zegt niets over de werking van een product; het beschermt de methode.

Collageen is een eiwit dat je lichaam zelf aanmaakt; het zit onder meer in je huid, haar en botten. Collageensupplementen bevatten collageen van dierlijke oorsprong, dat je lichaam bij het verteren afbreekt tot kleinere bouwstenen. Silicium is een mineraal, geen eiwit. SiWell bevat geen collageen en is vegan.

In tabletten en capsules zit silicium meestal als plantenextract (paardenstaart, bamboe) of als siliciumdioxide. Dat moet in je lichaam eerst worden omgezet naar orthokiezelzuur (OSA) voordat het kan worden opgenomen. In SiWell zit het silicium al als OSA, opgelost in een vloeistof. Je neemt het in met een paar druppels in water of sap.

A bottle costs €29.95 individually, or €25.46 with a subscription (15% discount), and lasts approximately 2 months. This comes down to about €0.42 to €0.50 per day.

Zinc and selenium contribute to the maintenance of normal hair, skin, and nails; this contribution is mainly present when you address a deficiency. The product has a shelf life of 24 months (BBD). It's stated on the bottle. Once opened, if properly sealed, it can be kept for about
3-4 months. Store at a constant temperature, e.g. in the bathroom
or in the refrigerator.
